Resumo
O fenômeno de “museificação” que vem ocorrendo nas últimas décadas nas principais capitais do mundo ocidental e a recorrente prática de encomenda deste tipo edilício a renomados escritórios de arquitetura, em sua maioria estrangeiros, instigam a refletir sobre como estas encomendas levam em consideração aspectos específicos do lugar na concepção e inserção destes edifícios em contextos urbanos tão diferentes. Diante disso, este trabalho estuda o caso do museu para a Fundação Iberê Camargo, projeto do arquiteto português Álvaro Siza concluído em 2008 em Porto Alegre, à luz da literatura acerca do sentido de lugar, de modo a compreender em que medida o projeto atende às demandas museológicas universais e leva em consideração as características culturais locais do sítio.Palavras-chave: Museus, Álvaro Siza, Fundação Iberê Camargo< From the universal to the local: the Iberê Camargo Foundation Museum
Abstract
The museum phenomena which is taking place in the last decades in the major cities of the world and the persistent custom of charging renowned architectural offices, mostly foreigners, provoke a relfection on how these architects are taking into consideration specific aspects of the site and the pre-existences of the place. Therefore, this paper explores the case of the museum of the Iberê Camargo Foundation, designed by the Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza and inaugurated in 2008 in Porto Alegre, taking into account a literature about the sense of place in order to ascertain to what extent this building meets universal demands for museum while considering the cultural characteristics of the site.Keywords: Museums, Álvaro Siza, Iberê Camargo Foundation
